Search Together – A Tool for Missing-Person Searches

Search Together was built to assist missing-person searches.  We decided to write this application after participating in a missing-person search and seeing some inefficiencies in the process.  Search Together is provided as a free tool for anyone participating in a missing-person search.  Although the search we participated in didn’t end the way we hoped it would, our goal is that this Search Together will be a useful tool that searches can use to find loved ones as quickly as possible.

Without Search Together, searchers may be forced to provide updates to the search coordinator in paper or text format. The search coordinator must pull together all these updates manually.  Additionally, if a new searcher wants to know what areas haven’t been covered, there’s no easy way to see where people have searched.

Search Together was built to replace that paperwork and manual process with a simple experience for searchers to log and share their activities and then provide a consolidated view for search coordinators or other searches.  Each searcher can easily track the GPS coordinates of their search path as well as save coordinates of where they’ve put up fliers.
